Inviting collaborators

Most homesteads have more than one person involved with the animals — a spouse, a kid old enough to help, a hired hand, a vet who actually visits. You can invite any of them to see (and depending on the role, contribute to) your flock.

Sending an invite
  1. From your flock, hit Members in the top nav.
  2. Hit Invite.
  3. Type the person's email.
  4. Pick a role (see below).
  5. Send.

They get an email. If they already have an account, the link signs them in and adds your flock to their dashboard. If they don't, the link drops them into sign-up, and your flock shows up once they're in.

The roles

Family. Full access — view, log events, edit animals, manage other invites. The role for a spouse or business partner who's just as much on the hook as you are.

Worker. View and log events, but can't add new animals, can't change flock settings, can't invite anyone else. The role for hired help that does barn chores and records weights.

Vet. Read-only access to everything. They can see the health history, the maintenance card, the medications — without being able to edit anything. The role for the veterinarian who needs context before a visit.

Buyer / Other. Scope-limited read-only. They can see only the animals you've shared with them, not the whole flock. Usually used after a buyer has signed up from a share link, but you can also invite directly.

Removing someone

Members page → find them → hit Remove. They lose access immediately. Their account stays — they just can't see your flock anymore. No notification is sent; if it's awkward, mention it to them yourself.

Who owns what

You're the owner of your flock. Other people get access, not ownership — no matter the role. Inviting your spouse as Family doesn't make them a co-owner; it gives them permission to act on your behalf. If something happened to you, the flock would go with your account.
